We provide services to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. All of our classrooms are full time with the exception of our NC pre-k classrooms which operates according to the Gaston county schools academic calendar and children attend class 6.5 hours daily. Our normal operating hours are 6:30 - 6:00 pm. Unlike your larger chain centers, we take pride in offering a small family freindly environment that focuses on meeting not only your child's needs, but yours as well. Children are unique, their learning environment should be unique as well. Your child's classroom will be filled with love and creativity that encourages your child to grow and learn at thier own pace.
Our Infant Nursery is designed to look more like a nursery that you would have at your home. We provide our babies with plenty of love and nurturing while working on the very early milestones in each area of development. Babies participate in a variety of activities throughout the day which includes storytime, art, and center activities. Parents are kept informed about developmental progress through daily and weekly reports. We have a private nursing nook for our nursing moms and if your baby is formula fed, we can provide your formula for you at no additional cost. When your child is ready to eat solid food, we will provide all your baby food.
Our toddler class has a ratio of one teacher to six children ages 12 months to 24 - 30 months. During this year of active exploration children are introduced to basic concepts such as colors, counting, rhyming and sensory exploration through a variety of hands on science and art activities. These experiences will build a strong foundation for more structured preschool experiences later on. We start building a developmental portfolio for children as they begin with our toddler classroom so that we can easily track each child's development, this enables us to meet individual needs of children throgh lesson planning.
This classroom has a ratio of one teacher to eight children ages 24-30 months - 48 months. Children are engaged in active learning experiences that includes literacy, language, math, science, art and social studies through hands on learning activities. We continue to monitor each child's development in order to ensure they are meeting milestones.
With a ratio of one teacher to nine students, our four year olds are actively engaged in preparing for their success in kindergarten. Working on all areas of development, including writing, reading and math skills, these students are busy throughout the day with hands on learning activities both inside and outside.
We provide afterschool care for students attending Pinewood Elementary, Catawba Springs, Mt. Island Charter and Lincoln Charter schools. We provide a variety of activities for students during the afterschool hours including outdoor time, arts and crafts, computer time and homework assistance.
During the summer we provide summer camp for our school age students. We plan a variety of fun field trips and on site experiences to create a fun camp experience. Activities include sports, swimming, science, arts and crafts and karate.
We participate in the USDA food program which monitors our program to ensure that we provide proper nutrition according to the food guide pyramid. We provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. These meals are included in your tuiton and a menu is provided in your child's classroom for review. Please make us aware of any allerigies or dietary restrictions during enrollment.

At the Grace School children do not play on climbing structures, swings and slides during their outdoor time. We are proud of our natural learning environment that encourages children to explore and learn from their world through a variety of natural elements; paving the path for plenty of science experiments and messy fun! Parents are an important part of every classroom at our school. We encourage parents to be involved and our teachers work to maintain open communication between home and school. You are your child's first teacher, together we can make a difference that will last a lifetime. "Early Years are learning years, make them count" NAEYC Parents can also watch their children via webcams while they are away from them during the day. Individual passwords are used for security and privacy.
